The Important Role of Internal Audit in
Culture and Conduct

Presenter: Clare Bolingford, Director of Banking and Insurance Conduct, Financial Markets Authority

Clare leads the FMA's work to implement the expected conduct regime of banks and insurers. Her role has a significant focus on engagement with key stakeholders including relevant government departments, other regulatory agencies, and the financial services industry. Clare previously worked for the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK for almost 20 years in a variety of supervision and policy roles, including leading and implementing regulatory change programmes. She also spent two years at the UK Treasury, leading capital markets and prudential policy.
