Climate Change
Dr Charles Ehrhart will present to IIA and ISACA members about climate change, New Zealand's transition to a more sustainable economy, and implications for professional auditors and advisors. The session will be divided into three parts:
- Context - including an update on recent developments in New Zealand
- Responses - including private and public sector examples
- Implications - including risks for professional auditors and advisors
Presenter:
Charles leads KPMG New Zealand's climate change and sustainability practice, where he is responsible for managing key engagements; catalysing the firm's transition to a low-emissions economy; and providing thought-leadership across KPMG's global network.
Dr Ehrhart has more than 20 years of professional experience working within governments, the UN, civil society and the private sector on sustainable development. For the past seventeen years, he has focused on the challenges of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building resilience within social and economic systems. His primary interests remain adaptation to climate change, mainstreaming climate change and sustainability into organisational strategies, green finance, and public-private partnerships for climate action. Charles has a PhD in Social Anthropology from Cambridge University. He continues to publish, is often invited to speak at international conferences, and has been cited by major newspapers as a global expert on the impacts of climate change.
