Welcome to the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand, the professional body for internal auditing
For the upcoming Forum we've invited Ramon Manzano to share with us his experience running an internal audit function servicing six health organisations that account for over one-third of our national health budget.
He will be relying on four images in his attempt to explain the complexity, challenges and opportunities such a setup provides.
Intrigued? Come and find out the stories behind each image.
Ramon's internal audit experience spans more than two decades and three time zones! His career has been, and continues to be, in health care. Prior to migrating to New Zealand in 2004, he worked for a Pharmaceutical Company in Hong Kong for 12 years as Vice President for International Audit covering 8 countries. His first job in New Zealand was as Group Internal Auditor for Gough Gough & Hamer, a Caterpillar Dealership, but he soon found himself back in the health sector starting with Canterbury DHB and now healthAlliance. Ramon is currently the GM for Regional Internal Audit.
Ramon enjoys the best of both worlds working in Auckland during the week and living in Christchurch in the weekends. He is blissfully married with two lovely teenage daughters who now can out-run, out-swim and out-ski him. He attended university in America finishing with an MBA then a Masters Degree in Accounting. He is also a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and an ACL Certified Data Analyst.
