On the Frontlines: The Most Important Thing Internal Auditors Don't Do

Internal auditors put a lot of work into their audit reports, but there's one part they don't write: management's remediation plan to address audit findings. Darigold Chief Audit Executive Edgardo Alifano writes that these plans are an opportunity for auditors to exercise their trusted adviser role. They can do this by working with management to ensure remediation plans address the root causes of audit findings, have realistic due dates and address risks adequately.
