On the Frontlines: Incorporating Data Analytics for Smarter Audits

Applying data analytics to audit planning and strategy can produce transformative results, says Crowe's Ryan Singer in this week's On the Frontlines blog post. Rather than taking an inconsistent, ad hoc approach, Singer says introducing data analytics at the start of the audit process can enable internal audit to perform more effective audits that target the right areas of risk. To create analytics that work, Singer says audit functions should start with a vision of what they want to achieve as a department and use analytics to further that vision.
