A report from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change illustrates the impact climate change is having in the form of extreme weather and says action is needed immediately to blunt the worst possible effects. "Unless we make immediate, rapid and large-scale reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions, limiting warming to 1.5 [degrees Celsius] will be beyond reach," says Ko Barrett, vice chair of the panel.
