Revised CIA Program Entry & Exit Requirements

IIA Global has announced updates to the entry and exit requirements for the CIA Program. The changes are applicable to anyone who applies to the CIA Program after 2 November.

Entry Requirements:

  • New Entry Requirements: To be approved into the CIA program, candidates must either hold a Bachelor's degree or higher, hold an active Internal Audit Practitioner designation, or possess 5 years of internal audit experience.
  • Removed Entry Requirements: The Associate's Degree or three A-Level Certificates - grade C or higher (or equivalent) requirement has been removed from the list of entry requirements.

Exit Requirements:

  • New Exit Requirements: Candidates who apply to the program using their active Internal Audit Practitioner designation as an entry requirement must provide 5 years of verifiable internal audit experience or equivalent.
