Our probity work extends to many of NZ’s largest and complex publicly funded projects and programmes.
Based in Wellington and working in a hybrid manner (office/home/client locations) McHale Group is a boutique, specialist assurance practice offering tailored assurance/audit solutions to the New Zealand public sector.
With an 18-year track record of high performance, our current client base is broad and growing, and you will work nationally across New Zealand sometimes requiring regular, short duration travel.
Our focus is on providing practical, real-time comfort and confidence to public sector entities in the management of their probity risks, tendering processes, procurement and contract management initiatives, and public infrastructure projects.
We are New Zealand’s only specialist niche provider of public sector probity audit, assurance and advisory services, procurement and contract management reviews, and project assurance/IQA services.
We have an opportunity for a Manager/Senior Manager to join (full-time) our growing and diverse team with assurance/audit experience in either public sector probity audits/reviews/advisory, procurement and contract management assurance, tendering or project/IQA reviews, and/or management consulting work in any of these areas.
This is an exciting role where you can use your management consultancy, assurance, audit, advisory, and review skills in probity, procurement, contract management, and project risks to full effect.
This challenge will see you involved in:
- Leading audit/review/advisory assignments to a wide public sector client base using your existing skills and knowledge with support, guidance, and mentoring from our market leading probity specialists;
- Providing probity audit, assurance and advice on many of New Zealand’s largest and complex infrastructure projects (ICT, vertical and horizontal construction, roading etc.) with high-profile public sector organisations;
- Developing your skills and experience in our specialist assurance areas;
- Assisting in building client relationships for the company and taking McHale Group to the next level;

Important to us is honesty, integrity, working collaboratively with our team, energy and enthusiasm, and some relevant experience and knowledge in probity, procurement (best practice in Government procurement), projects, tendering, contract management or auditing of these areas within the public sector.
We offer a competitive remuneration and benefits package including:
- Base remuneration in the range of $125,000-$150,000, depending on skills and experience;
- Performance bonus structure, on top of base remuneration;
- Genuinely flexible working arrangements) – hybrid working from home/office/client locations;
- 25 days annual leave; and
- Personal training and development budget.
