Manager, Audit | Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake 

About the role | Mō te mahi 

We’re seeking a Manager, Audit to oversee the delivery of our comprehensive internal audit and claims assurance programmes. As part of the Risk and Assurance team, you’ll provide independent, objective assurance over the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, governance, and insurer compliance. 

You’ll lead and support a team of Internal Auditors and Quality Analysts, ensuring high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement across the organisation. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Lead and deliver NHC Toka Tū Ake’s internal audit and claims assurance programmes. 
  • Provide independent assurance over internal controls, governance, and risk management. 
  • Oversee quality assurance across the claims function, identifying opportunities for improvement. 
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and private insurers, ensuring effective collaboration. 
  • Represent the Audit and Quality Assurance teams with professionalism and credibility across the organisation. 

Skills and experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako 

You’ll bring: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business or a related field, with membership of a professional body. 
  • 10+ years’ experience leading audits, with strong technical understanding of audit methodologies, tools, and techniques. 
  • Proven ability to deliver and oversee high-quality audit reports and manage audit teams. 
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
