Welcome to the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand, the professional body for internal auditing
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise
Who we are:
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is New Zealand’s international business development agency. We work with some of New Zealand’s most forward-thinking companies, helping them grow internationally—bigger, better, faster—for the benefit of New Zealand and the world.
What you'll be doing:
As the Business Assurance Manager, you will work alongside the Director of Business Assurance to enable NZTE achieve its goals through effectively managing its risks and supporting people to make good decisions.
You will provide internal audit and risk advisory services to keep us safe and improve our organisation's operations. You will be working across all our internal teams, domestically and internationally, up to senior leadership levels to perform audit work, provide risk advisory services and continue to build our risk maturity.
You will act as a trusted advisor by building and maintaining strong relationships with key leaders and experts across all NZTE groups including the Director Business Assurance, our Lead Team and the Board's Audit and Risk Committee.
What you'll need to be successful:
You will be a natural collaborator and a strong communicator, at all levels. As you will be accessible to all NZTE people around the globe, you will be someone who builds trusted relationships with ease across people with diverse backgrounds and cultures. You will be able to work in partnership with the organisation to enable effective and safe operations. Your ability to work positively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders at multiple levels will be crucial to your success in the role.
You will have experience working in professional services or in an organisation's internal audit or risk management team and be confident to advise on complex risk and assurance matters to varied audiences. You will have strong influencing skills at the senior management level, including the Lead Team, the Chief Executive and the Audit and Risk Committee, and be comfortable making decisions and working independently. Ideally, you will possess a degree in a management or finance discipline with professional auditing or accounting qualifications (Institute of Internal Auditors, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) or equivalent.
Being inquisitive and curious will set your application apart – it is important that you are someone who wants to understand how things work, why they work as they do and how they might be better.
Why you'll love working here:
We’re a fun bunch of driven people who are committed and connected to the purpose of NZTE to grow New Zealand companies internationally. Our environment encourages experimentation and constant learning, intellectual challenge and honesty. There’s plenty of scope to look at how we do things and work together as a team to make positive and impactful changes.
We know that life isn’t all about work, so we offer a supportive flexible hybrid work environment (3 days a week in the office, 2 days from home). We’ll encourage you, your wellbeing and your growth journey with us and we’ll challenge you to be ambitious for yourself and NZTE.
