Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA) is the one and only emergency ambulance service for Greater Wellington and Wairarapa. We provide high quality leading edge patient care in emergency medical and trauma situations, prehospital and treat-at-home care, and rescue and transport services. We respond to approximately 130 incidents every day, and we are the only free service in the country. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Risk and Assurance Manager will provide third-line assurance for organisational risk, quality and assurance. You will have the responsibility for leading the coordination of organisation-wide assurance activity, requiring you to be able to work at a high level of independence and effectiveness in terms of planning and managing the assurance and risk effort, and presenting authoritatively to the CE and board. Your professional presence buildstrust and confidence and positively influences practices from frontline operations to the boardroom.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Think and contribute strategically
- Analyse and assist management in understanding what risks might prevent achievement of objectives
- Build strong relationships with the board and management and provide independent insights that strengthen governance and improve business processes
- Develop and implement integrated risk driven audit plans
- Oversee and maintain quality systems, in accordance with agreed Standards
- Champion business improvement across the organisation
- Successfully lead projects
- Demonstrate a record of achieving results through influencing
