Online Experience

Pre-Event

What are the technical considerations for participation in the virtual conference?

You will need a device that is connected to the Internet. Prior to the start of the virtual conference, you will receive an email providing instructions and links on how to connect to the virtual conference platform, Zoom.

Do I need a Zoom account to participate in the virtual conference?

No, you do not need a Zoom account to participate in the virtual conference, however Zoom must not be blocked on your device or you will be unable to join any of the sessions presented through Zoom. The Zoom App is recommended for reliability and can be downloaded here.

During the Event

Will there be multiple sessions at the same time?

Like an in-person conference, sessions are scheduled to run concurrently. Please review the programme to see all of the session topics and speakers. If you missed a session or wanted to attend two sessions that are being held at the same time, you will have access to the recordings from the entire conference after the event.

Will I be able to move to a different stream during the conference?

Yes, you will be able to move between streams similar to as you would during an in-person conference.
Prior to the Conference, attendees will be sent the links to join the Conference, as well as the different streams.
Can’t decide which stream sessions to join? That’s not a problem as we have you covered with access to recordings of all the sessions after the event.

Will sessions be pre-recorded or live?

Both. Some sessions will be pre-recorded and followed by a live Q&A.

Can I ask questions during the sessions?

We encourage you to ask questions at any time using the ‘Q&A’ function. Questions are submitted to the MCs and will be placed into the queue for the Q&A sessions at the end of each session.

What format are sessions?

There will be plenary sessions and a panel discussion. For each session, our MCs will kick-off the session live and introduce the speaker. For each presentation, you will see the speaker and their presentation slides (if they have any). At the end of the presentations for that session, attendees will have an opportunity to engage in live Q&A with the speaker facilitated by our MCs.

What if I miss a session?

The virtual conference format offers great flexibility. All sessions are recorded so you can come back and view what you’ve missed after the conference.

Can I share my login with other people?

No, each registered attendee will receive a link to the virtual conference platform that is uniquely tied to their registration and cannot be opened on multiple devices at the same time.
