Welcome to the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand, the professional body for internal auditing
Synopsis Covid-19 is here to stay for a while. Since last year, organisations, big or small have been hit by Covid 19 as they were caught off guard and ill prepared. Forces driven by technology, macroeconomics, geopolitics and disruption are compelling organisations to re-position and transform to survive. Auditors too must adapt and change to meet the growing needs of organisations and their stakeholders. Most resorted to remote working and online transactions mainly, under such extraordinary times. Audit Committees, Boards, senior management and stakeholders are seeking solutions for heightened cyberattacks, frauds, scams and governance failures. In this disruptive age, what should auditors do and how can they play an impactful role as an independent assessor and assurer to help the board, management and public to ensure the businesses processes are efficient and in compliance with controls. This is challenging when resources remain scarce and yet have to face more demands from the stakeholders in the new business landscape. As we pause and take stock of the organisational activities that occurred last year and even recently due to Covid- 19, it is timely to have a panel comprising thought leaders from various industries to discuss and share their experiences and market practices in conducting effective auditing.
