Session Overview:

Maintaining an effective quality assurance and improvement program can be challenging during normal circumstances, let alone during challenging times. While Australia is slowly opening up, the pressure from COVID-19 may not wear off so quickly. Internal audit teams may still continue to work remotely, struggle with budget pressures, face wellbeing challenges with team members and other issues. This webinar will cover what organisations are doing, or can do, to maintain internal audit quality including through difficult times.

Sue is an experienced senior leader with broad experience across finance, shared services, risk and assurance. In her role as the Internal Audit Area of Expertise, Sue is accountable for the quality of the internal audit function and programme, leading the improvement programme, programme management and data analytics.

Andrew Cox PFIIA CIA CGAP, Manager, Technical Services, IIA-Australia

Andrew is the IIA-Australia's internal audit technical subject matter expert. His IIA-Australia role includes writing technical publications such as fact sheets and white papers and answering member technical questions. He also runs the IIA-Australia consulting business which primarily performs independent quality assessments of internal audit functions. He has personally performed more than 250 internal audit quality assessments in corporate organisations and the public sector in Australia, Middle East and Asia. He has worked on international assignments including audit and risk management strengthening projects in Ghana, Iraq, Papua New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates. He is an independent member of a number of audit committees.
