Webinar: Ethics and Professionalism for Internal Auditors

This webinar will explore the concepts of ethics and professionalism and various approaches to ethical decision making.

Presenter: Professor Charles Sampford, Foundation Dean of Law and Director of the Institute for Ethics, Governance and Law, Griffith University

Charles topped politics, philosophy and law at Melbourne, combining them in his 1986 Oxford DPhil. In 1991, Griffith approached him to be their Foundation Dean of Law and he established the curriculum and research culture that has helped Griffith reach a global ranking of #29 on the Shanghai index for Law. He bid for and led the only Australian Research (ARC) Centre and only ARC network in law or governance.

He is currently Director of the Institute for Ethics, Governance and Law, a multi-university strategic research centre at Griffith established on the initiative of the United Nations University. He has completed 32 books (with Oxford University Press and other international publishers) and over 150 essays and articles.

He was a member of the 2001-2 US Center on Foreign Relations taskforce on threats to Democracy co-chaired by Madeleine Albright and a member of the 2009-11 ILA Committee drafting a code of conduct for those appearing before international tribunals. Visiting appointments have included a Senior Fellowship at St John's College Oxford and Senior Fulbright Award to Harvard. He convened the World Ethics Forum in Oxford in 2006 and the first three Integrity 20 summits.
