I grew up in the Waikato, and attended the Waikato University (Master of Management Studies). Over the last 15 years, I have worked in external audit, industry (internal audit and risk management) and most recently in consulting, in New Zealand, Belgium and Vietnam
Favourite hobby/pastime:
I love the simple things in life, hanging about with friends or family, enjoying the sun. I’m also pretty passionate about working with the IIA to develop and grow our profession.
Professional inspiration:
Being able to make a difference; doing something large or small that makes life/work/business processes simpler/faster/more effective. Actually, people around me are the same – they also come to work to make a difference – and that’s also inspiring.
Professional challenges:
2009 has been a difficult year for everyone, and no business has been exempt from needing to rethink how they do what they do. I believe 2010 will continue to challenge us all, and we have to keep finding smarter, more efficient ways to not only handle the basics, but also to deliver a point of difference.
Fascinating fact:
By the year 2050, global food production will need to increase between 50% and 100% to feed an additional three billion people on our planet.
