About us
Established in 1986, the Institute has chapters in Auckland, Canterbury and Wellington with membership being drawn from both private and public sectors. IIA New Zealand is affiliated with the Institute of Internal Auditors in the USA plus the numerous IIA Chapters around the world.
The IIA plays an active role in the public arena, building awareness of internal auditing, promoting members’ interests and challenging organisations to reach the highest standards of corporate governance. The International Standards and Code of Ethics unite a global community of 170,000 internal auditors in 165 countries.
IIA New Zealand provides internal auditing practitioners, executive management, boards of directors and audit committees with standards, guidance and information on internal auditing best practices.
As the leading body for internal audit in New Zealand, the IIANZ is continually working to enhance and support the careers of our members, and promote the importance of best practice internal audit.
IIA New Zealand is committed to:
- Providing a range of comprehensive professional development activities, standards for the practice of internal auditing and certification.
- Researching, disseminating and promoting to its members and to the public, knowledge and information concerning internal auditing, including internal control and related subjects.
- Establishing meetings to educate members and others as to the practice of internal auditing as it exists in New Zealand and throughout the world.
- Bringing together internal auditors to share information and experiences in internal auditing and promoting education in the field of internal auditing.
